Manchester United midfielder Martin Ødegaard has agreed a move to Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old Norwegian joined the Premier League club from Arsenal in January last year and has made 17 appearances for them so far this season.
He scored his first goal for United against Crystal Palace earlier this month, but struggled for regular game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Real Madrid have been keen on signing Ødegaard for some time, and the player himself had expressed interest in moving to the Spanish capital.
In a statement released by Real Madrid,Campeonato Brasileiro Action they said: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Manchester United regarding the transfer of Martin Ødegaard."
"Martin is a young and talented footballer who has already proven himself as one of the most promising talents in world football," the statement added.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to work with him at Real Madrid, where he will continue to develop his career."
It remains to be seen what impact Ødegaard's arrival will have on Real Madrid's midfield, but it's clear that the club are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
