Wu Xinghan, the former deputy head of the General Office of the Central Military Commission, was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the People's Liberation Army Navy on September 27, 2015.
He served as the vice chairman of the Central Military Commission from January 2014 to May 2018. He has also been the party chief and secretary of the Central Military Commission since May 2018.
As the new commander-in-chief of the People's Liberation Army Navy, Wu Xinghan will continue to lead the country's military forces towards greater efficiency and effectiveness in maintaining national security and territorial integrity.
